Flat Die Thread Rolling Machines

NG thread rolling machines are compact, fast and flexible. NG thread rollers were  created to satisfy production needs of modern companies, allowing for quick response to the daily changing demands of the market, using state of the art of technology.

Direct Drive configuration: The main motor is Direct Drive a gearless technology, combined with an introduction device totally driven by a linear motor (Smart Patent), offers the capability to roll Hi Tensile stainless steel and hardened blanks up to M14 mm diameter.
The possibility to use flat die sizes longer than standard, by changing the slide stroke guarantee absolute precision during the forming of complex profiles. Thanks to this flexibility, one model contains the functions of 3 different machines. 

The set-up and the change-over of the machine are done in minutes through the touch screen control panel with the “Auto setup” software. “Auto setup” eliminates the operator from having to perform manual set-up operations. The machine is equipped with a powerful embedded PC that is able to memorize up to 2000 different part numbers for precise setup repeatability.

NG MAXI series of machines incorporate the best technology available on the market. The Direct Drive system, combined with the 2 finger starter/introduction system, driven by linear motors (Smart Patents) guarantee the best performance in Hi Tensile & Hardened  bolt threading, in diameters up to M48! Planetary Machines

RNG: These high tech planetary machines from Smart offer a unique combination of quick over are completed in minutes, thanks to our software, performed directly on the and easy set up with very high production rates, with precise adjustments and job repeatability, thanks to the best state of the art of today technology.

Our Direct Drive system,(gearless technology), combined with the linear motor introduction (Smart Patents) guarantees perfect threading up to M20, including hardened and stainless steel parts. The geometry of the machine allows the possibility to use several different sizes of dies, up to 450 mm diameter, and 180° angular development, in order to form hollow parts without internal deformation. The set-up and change control panel. The software is able to manage the start position on the ring die, in order to get totally uniform wearing of the die. A powerful PC allows up to 2000 different part numbers to be stored in memory for future recall.

Washer Assembly Units

The Smart EVOLUTION sems unit is capable to assemble 1 (EV1) or 2 (EV2) different washers on a blank, before threading, by 1 or 2 mechanical devices driven by a Direct Drive motor. (Smart Patent)

The completely electronic management assures a total change over and set up time in minutes, with a simple, easy approach.
The device is offered in 2 versions: either equipped on a Smart threader or in stand alone version, that can placed behind any threader.

The Smart EVOLUTION MAXI sems unit is especially dedicated to medium and large size bolts production, up to M24 diameter and up to 300 mm length. The device is capable to assemble 1 or 2 different washers by one assembly station. Due to its large diameter, this unit rises the washer up to 100 mm. So to avoid any possible tilting of the assembled parts before threading. The completely electronic management assures a total change over and set up in minutes, with a simple and easy approach.

The device is offered in 2 versions: either equipped mounted on a Smart threader or in stand alone version, that can be placed behind any threader.

Pointing Machines

Smart pointers offer the best solution for shaving points, chamfers, throats and axial drilling on screws and bolts. This device can work either as an independent stand alone unit, (NP version), or equipped on a Smart threader, (UNP version).

Thanks to its electrospindle, with it’s high speed, variable from 0 to 9,000 rpm, and to a very unique cooling system for the tooling, a wide range of chamfering shapes are possible, at very high production speeds, with long life of the cutting inserts and with superb quality of the finished part.

The clamping unit is perfectly balanced by several springs inside the head, to guarantee the perfect repeatability of the finished parts. A unique braking device avoids stopping the machine with the blank against the inserts, in order to avoid breaking the insert profile. A PLC controls the work cycle, and it’s possible to complete the pointer with a flipper able to reject imperfect parts. The set-up and the adjustments are made in few minutes with the help of servomotors managed from the control panel.
